About Aina
My name is Aina Rodríguez and I am a native teacher of Spanish as a foreign language. I come from Vigo, a coastal city in northern Spain, where I currently live.
I lived in Lisbon for a year as part of my Bachelor Degree in Portuguese. In addition, I previously spent time in England, also as a student, where I improved my English. I am passionate about travelling, learning languages, discovering new cultures and taking part in sports.
I have a Master in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and I have completed several training programs related to the field. Moreover, I have run teacher training workshops related to integrating cultural aspects in Spanish classes for foreigners and the development of intercultural skills for non-native Spanish students.
I also previously worked in Brazil for several years as a Spanish teacher at the Instituto Cervantes in Salvador de Bahía and as a lecturer on Spanish at the Universidad Estadual Paraíba in the city of Campina Grande, where I taught preparation courses for DELE examinations (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) and worked as the chief examiner in several sessions of the examinations.
I give Spanish classes online. Students can choose between general Spanish classes if they want to maintain or improve their level of the language or even start from scratch, and preparation courses for all levels of the DELE examinations.
The general Spanish classes are flexible and always take into consideration the student’s level, tastes and needs. The main objective of the classes is acquiring communicative capacity so that students can easily deal with the different situations that arise in real life. To achieve this, I use the communicative method, as it enables students to speak as much as possible as they gradually strengthen their level of grammar and vocabulary.
In addition, we work on the four communication skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking, using materials that are real or adapted to reality. There are also plenty of grammatical explanations.
